AUTHOR STATEMENT:

My poetry looks to positively explore human potential, with an emphasis on love, spiritual growth and self awareness. It is very important to me that my work remains as open, accessible and as simply expressed as possible. My influences vary from the great traditional English visionary romantics through to the distillation of thought and leanness of expression offered by the Japanese haiku tradition, the shining examples of Rilke and Gibran – as well as (being a fully committed free verse poet…) the later technical breakthroughs achieved by leading Scottish concrete poets Ian Hamilton Finlay and Edwin Morgan.

WHAT THE CRITICS SAY:

“To write and sell poetry at a profit these days is a minor victory and a major achievement. Scott’s words gently unlock and force you to face and look at the world with a little more optimism. There are moments of deep joy and others, which take your breath away with simple incredible honesty”

G. White

“Scott Hastie’s verse is sympathetic, humanistic and positively affirmative. Accessibility is the touchstone of all Hastie’s output. The spiritual element in his writing is clear.”

G.E. Jones

“Scott writes meditative, reflective poetry that is steeped in the traditions of English verse. Concise and richly evocative, he should be widely read.”

R. Godwin

“Via an invisible gilded chain of perception, Scott Hastie generously leads us through an enthusiastic re-invention of the possibilities of new experience. His inspired words bestride the world with such ease, touching the deepest sensibilities of human beings everywhere.”

Christopher Nichols on New Poem – An old view seen anew

It is uncomfortably true that time passes and before you know, it is irretrievably gone. I feel rather depressed by this.

JT Smith on New Poem – An old view seen anew

So luminous and bright as stars that deliver us its celestial light. There is definitely an ecstasy here, very zen-like. If you do not feel evoked, obviously you need to reach deeper into your consciousness. I, for one was bathed in its beauty. The rhythm is perfect. One of my New favourites indeed. Continue to radiate your ageless wisdom on us. The Universe is listening.

ZQ on New Poem – An old view seen anew

THIS WAS SO ABSTRACT YET FULL OF MEANING I lost track. My bad.

Beautiful poetry Scott. How often do we turn away? I think we miss much in the journey, we only need to open our eyes to see big and small miracles.

Sherry Blue Sky on New Poem – An old view seen anew

Scottie, lovely to see you. I love the picture of you perched in the tree. My favourite line: “There is so much wonder out there.” I so agree! Wonder, for those with eyes to see, that expands the soul. Wishing you a productive 2018, kiddo.

Rommy on New Poem – An old view seen anew

Good reminder to pursue wonder instead of laying back passively expecting it.

Colleen Redman on New Poem – An old view seen anew

A good reminder to stay in present day wonder. I need that now.

This section speaks to me:

“Time can pass by,
Like an empty whisper,
Meaningless and negligent.

Till, all at once,
There you have it,
Pulsing within you,
The day of days!”

Sumana Roy on New Poem – An old view seen anew

“Pulsing within you, / The day of days!”….Only one who knows, knows. A wonderfully awakening moment so brilliantly captivated.

“Time can pass by,
like an empty whisper,

Suddenly it has been wasted. So awaken we must.

Nicely done. Like always.

Laura Laveglia on New Poem – An old view seen anew

First of all love this picture of you! The picture of peace!
Your poem almost had a sing song to it, flowing like silk
Read this one several times and what I felt it conveyed was older and wiser version of us
As once when young our eyes seen the proverbial grass is greener on the other side but the wonder of age shows and beats within us truth and peace
Or
Our husbands and wife’s are not so bad after all and the pretty princess and handsome prince are all but a facade!!!!
Just giving example in life!

I loved loved your poem!!!

Thank you

Aria Ligi on New Poem – An old view seen anew

I love the rhyme scheme in this which is simple while the underlying theme is subtle and complex. Witness the ending flourish:\

Till, all at once,
There you have it,
Pulsing within you,
The day of days!

Whatever else
Might come your way,
This you will always know.

Never rewarded thus
Unless you sing so.

Tradlos on New Poem – An old view seen anew

True. I find that waiting for the perfect moment often holds us back from living life as it is. Rather go with the imperfections and the little beautiful things along the way.

Sabio Lanz on New Poem – An old view seen anew

I read it twice and it seemed like savoring the morning. Sort of like ‘Savouring a lizard’ a poem by Barry Spacks.

Glenn  Buttkus on New Poem – An old view seen anew

I’ve always read that it is the port’s tenacity to hang on to their inner child that helps fuel one’s sense of wonder; jut watch COSMOS, and try to wrap your mind around a billion billion universes like ours, or living in the last season of our lives, we approach death as transition, all Zen and shit.

Jennifer Wagner on New Poem – An old view seen anew

The day of days!

Paul Bowles on New Poem – An old view seen anew

How often do we turn away from wonder? Sounds like sunrise or sunset to me, shrouded in your sparing eloquence Scott. Or is it the simple day of peaceful rumination that speaks of a appreciation of life. It couldn’t be a mystical union could it. Oh you do leave us with searching for the answers to your questions, then we wonder at if they are our questions also.

Sayed Rohani on New Poem – An old view seen anew

Yes, time is passing by, and life is changing faster than before. A poem whose motion is felt.

gbemi tj on New Poem – Passing

Yes. Fear of death is not just attenuated in Scott’s poem -Passing – but the meditative audience will stretch their perception deeper into the touted bliss after this harsh temporary life -which is a market place though to fulfill a purpose or destiny realization.

gbemi tj on New Poem – Like some flutter…

Or again we may not have a real intrinsic barometer to measure the deficit of happiness- without an iota of suffering be it material or ill-health condition or relationship depravity. That’s life for you with its bundles of imperfections.

gbemi tj on New Poem – Like some flutter…

You deuce with me in your analysis of Scott’s flutter poem is wonderfully delicate, despite the free form style. Lots of meaning locked up in each line.

gbemi tj on New Poem – Like some flutter…

Scott also taught me aching melancholy words that apply to passage; mournful experience that followed the cell death of any dear friend, client or even a colleague in fellowship who have the penchant to hug you heartily… Sadness galore were it not for the less emotional harmful trauma of bitter tears. Remembering that immortality also means being loved by many anonymous people.

gbemi tj on New Poem – Like some flutter…

Yeah.. Actually it could even be a fulcrum for better opportunities whereas spontaneous success might gloss over lots of hidden treasuries. I concur with your linking all those fruits of the spirit to celebrate suffering, especially when it comes as guest that will surely disappear tacitly.Your thoughts are holistic and wealthy.

gbemi tj on New Poem – Like some flutter…

There’s such a copious miscellany from Scott’s deep mind that I will need more time to select and meditate on his output since they’re so deep rooted from a truly fulfilled poet and artist. Thanks to the Super Poet for the likes of him that employ themselves with such generous inner permission.

gbemi tj  on New Poem – Like some flutter…

Beauty fantasised by prolific Scott is another kettle of fish considering man’s often insatiately indifference to what is an embodiment of beauty. If there are no poets and arists how beautiful less will the world or a landscape or cloud be? Who would haves captured and stabilsed their natural forms. Poets are such busy, cute and valuable workers, engaging all their senses environmentally with their interior lens.

Zay Linn Mg on New Poem – Like some flutter…

In poetry, sad emotion and plainess, nothingness is inevitable i think. Though i try to write things from optimistic point of view on life, selfawareness of and insight into nothingness is usually displayed though may not be easily seen. Thanks for your poems.

Nidhi on New Poem – Like some flutter…

Words are very deep and prudent. A fascinating and very subliminal poetry. Words by a pen of truth-seeker and pilgrim of life. Life is all about experience and suffering is also part of it. It also nourishes us.

Shrish Hardas on Writing…

Wow!Your poems are simple yet deep in their meaning.

Himanshu on New Poem – Like some flutter…

Really nice thoughts. Heart touching

Christopher Nichols on New Poem – Like some flutter…

Scott, your lesson on the meaning of suffering is profound. So often we find ourselves confronted by pain and loss, not understanding why the cosmic mind has seen fit to single us out for punishment. “Why me?” we ask. “Why hast thou forsaken me?”

As you suggest, the meaning of suffering is in spurring us along a personal journey, awakening our consciousness to something we could not have envisioned on our own. Through our experience of joy and suffering (perhaps holistically there must be a light and a dark side to suffering; a yin and a yang ), the veil of mystery is lifted for us to see the glorious spaces in between.

An amazing crystallization of the meaning of suffering and life itself.I think you have distilled the meaning of life in a few words. Thank you for this great poem.

John Lysaght on New Poem – For Dylan Thomas…

I really enjoyed this poem.
I reminisce about the times I have had a jar within the gaze of Dylan Thomas, looking back at me from his mural at the White Horse tavern, the scene of his last drinking binge before passing away at St.Vincent`s hospital days later. It also makes me think of Jack Kerouac, a skeleton in drink who passed at 47.

We are by chance who we are, who we can become by the by the opportunities we embrace, a life
fully absorbent fueled by good faith.

Letting go is a key to finding our way through.

‘Equal as it is
To any kinder, softer,

How we grow into

Lee Landau on New Poem – Like some flutter…

I don’t think you need the last two lines of the poem. The poem takes us to that conclusion without stating it. Really good effort

Scott Gurney on New Poem – Like some flutter…

I resonated with the second half more than first. Though It is a lovely metaphor, exercised with a simile as the wavelength for the unpredictable nature of enjoyment and suffering. I think, another avenue for this poem might be to explore the source of why we suffer, how the reevaluation of its value can be like revitalisation to a dullard. From the moment one enters the poem, I, and possibly others as I assume, become lost over the topic but struck by a powerful image, with which I am dissolved until I see clearer what the intention of the piece came to be. Though I assume this was intentional, I feel syntactically, a cogent structure would aid ones connection and attraction to what is by all means a positive take and analysis of optimism performed as to be breaking out of pessimism. Hitherto, I think you have a lovely use of grammar, which gives the piece fluent tone and pace, and allows your voice to sing freely. Keep up the good work, and just so you know, you have a great name!

Glenn Buttkus on New Poem – Like some flutter…

Getting into the line here, Scott. Your poem has the aura of magic, probing, searching, advising. All the responders have found themselves somewhere within the weave. I, too, was hooked by /don’t ever look to/undervalue suffering/when it comes to visit. My 25 year battle with my immune system has led me down every conceivable avenue of possible healing (none of which have been successful), but one thing has been common to every healer’s approach–accepting, owning, even thanking that which is responsible for my suffering–for metaphysically, my entity chose this struggle for me–and my lessons are not completed yet it seems.

Bekkie Sanchez on New Poem – Like some flutter…

So true, Scott! If we didn’t experience suffering there’d be no happiness. Bravo!

A broken hearted
Chalice of dreams,
As dry as dust…’

Kim M. Russell on New Poem – Like some flutter…

Yes, some suffering is necessary to ‘grow into / The glorious spaces / In between.’

The sun glints again
Through the forest
And our hearts are captured
In a blaze of joy
And aching melancholy’.

Banu Bidarkund on New Poem – Like some flutter…

A beautiful way of letting know that suffering is in realty a lesson in learning of life, understanding ourselves and knowing the truth in mystical ways. Finally acknowledging that suffering will quietly bring to us a joyful experience of heavenly bliss as an ultimate outcome.

Walter Marks on New Poem – Like some flutter…

It is hard for me to value my own suffering. Especially since I am usually it’s author. But I can learn from it. I think if it has real value, at least for me, it’s in the learning curve. The poem is beautiful though.

JT Smith on New Poem – Like some flutter…

Once again, we mine the soul and find the most beautiful dreams. there is definitely a poignant resonance to this poem. we are seekers, all of humanity. the language is evocative and quite honest. metaphors dance in and out of that glistening hook. it makes me proud to know that the art and craft of poetry is alive. Anyhow, well done mate. you can learn so much by the flutter of words and the emotions that accompany it.

Our suffering is equally as useful as the softer, easier times. The way you describe this is so beautifully put, Scott.

John Rachel on New Poem – Like some flutter…

“From that moment on,

We become seekers.”

A profound and positive prescription for those who are in the moment and self-aware. Is there a smart phone app for this? If not, the rest of us better be alert for those wandering around with their faces buried in the tiny screens of hand-held devices … or collisions will abound!

Ryan Dior on New Poem – Passing…

We, as mortals, are always looking, waiting… Then, with or with out thinking, we are all compelled to walk through that open door. I call the first ever door “Life” then the remaining doors, we happen upon through life, I believe are visions where we alone have the power to drive. Well thought through, in a way that only an experienced mind could write.

Nivedita Yohana on New Poem – Passing…

Have read and absorbed your new work of art: Passing.. You have wonderfully captured the truth and essence of life- “Passing so often fruitlessly”– though there may not be fruits but definitely, through each passing door the roots are rooted firmly and you emulate this so well in use of words- “The Casket of your soul”– just blew my mind.

The peace that you talk about is just so amazing! Embarking a journey in one’s own soul can be quite painful which means that we need to shatter own conditions, impressions and all the layers of thick concrete walls that we have built around our precious ego over the decades to protect it. Once we have surmounted all these obstacles there we find peace and all the pain and suffering seem totally worth. Those who dive into the sea of affliction bring rarest of pearls.

Once our energies are aligned with the universe and the creative energy that created us, the world becomes a beautiful place, isn’t it? As you have wonderfully penned it “caught up in the storm of being” and when you say ‘mindfulness’ in my opinion even in the eye of this storm by being aware of this divine( creative) energy and submitting ourselves to it, can soothe us or ‘can becalm’ us what do you think?

Scott says: For sure, my dear NIvedita – I feel this too and what an important blessing it is…

Alex Fitton on New Poem – Passing…

Marieta Maglas on New Poem – Passing…

An inner, personal peace within to open the ”doors” of those souls that need the light of God; spreading the Word of Christ, gathering the courage to do it, praying hardly enough; waiting for the prize of salvation, being armed with righteousness in the ”storms of being”, searching for the best ways to spread the word, unveiling and detaching the ”blanket” of badness, that badness that always is caused by the selfish attitude. We pass so quickly through this life…Wonderful poem- thank you for sharing it.

Neena Sharma on New Poem – Passing…

Wow…What an insightful subtle poesy…What a passing, Scotties Sir…; chasing desires after desires, fruitlessly mindlessly wandering from one to another…At last, man yearns for that eternal Quest for Truth, knowing and perceiving the divinity reverberating within oneself, nestling within our contours…The Lost Pristine Pure attributes of the Soul; viz. Love Peace Purity, Bliss.
Indeed a breath taking Thought provoking Marvel…So poignantly depicted and expressed, touhing one’s soul. Alas…The sad Truth of life unfolded!
Thank You for the poignnt though provoking share…Loved it!
Looking forward to more creative marvels down the line…

Loved the lines…

Blanket upon blanket
Of selflessness,
Nestled now securely
In the glowing casket
Of your soul.
Where, deep therein forever,
Lies the warmest
And truest of dividends.

Salutations to your glowing/Shiny Soul!!

Divine Greetings and Regards

I agree with Timoteo, the first 3 lines are a haiku and the rest is more goodness. There are too many good lines to mention but the last stanza is wonderful. You made death less scary and more comfortable.

Carol Zielinski on New Poem – Passing…

What a beautiful and timely poem! In just a short amount of words you get right to the heart of the matter. These are feelings we all share!!

Hello Scott,

Wishes for success my friend
Amazing poem from your heart
Thank you very much for your kindness.
Congratulations on mature and sensitive writing

“Twist and tease still,
Like runaway kites” … This and the last two stanzas are my favorite parts.

Petrujviljoen on New Poem – Passing…

Indeed, death is not an ending. You wrote it well!

Marina Sofia on New Poem – Passing…

Particularly liked the ‘fragile, needy contours’ and the somewhat unexpected ‘blanket of selflessness’ (to me a blanket feels like suffocating, while obviously you have thought of it protecting, enfolding, cocooning).

Jennifer Wagner on New Poem – Passing…

Your close is gorgeous!

Bev on New Poem – Passing…

…”the embrace of perfect peace” … what a beautiful expression. A wonderful and evocative poem.

J.T. Smith on New Poem – Passing…

I just read this, your new poem. it is saturated by vitality and secrets of a more balanced existence. So do continue to push the threshold of our dreams.

Drew Clausen on New Poem – We are all prophets…

HELLO FELLOW Prophet. What a great idea of writing this is. BARD, storytellers, songwriters, and poets. We are all seeking Knowledge in the greatness of wrotes. And words show the prophetic thoughts of one individual. So in saying everyone can be a prophet great or small in knowledge of words they speak or write even sing or play. All of this is a rhythm of life in written thoughts for future prophets to read and to seek their own meaning in the knowledge of life through the words written by us the present prophet’s, bards, storytellers, songwriters, and poet’s. As we reviewed the past prophet’s of writing in these areas of life. I will not name them all because all one has to do in go to any book and find them there waiting in life. So once again congrats on a PROPHETIC WRITING OF WORDS OF LIFE.

Sarah Russell on New Poem – Passing…

“…In the glowing casket / Of your soul.” Wonderful line, Scott!

Jane Dougherty on New Poem – Passing…

Strangely I don’t see death in this poem, simply a renunciation of striving after goals that once obtained lead onto others. We live on a treadmill of satisfied and unsatisfied desires. Peace comes when those desires cease to have any sense. I very much like the message in this poem, selfless in everything is what she should become.

Misky on New Poem – Passing…

That last stanza is powerful. A nice, tidy ending.

Xenia on New Poem – Passing…

A beautiful poem Scott and so full of love in the way of a true seer ☺

‘The lingering presence
Of love
Beneath the fragile,
Needy contours of us all’.

JT Smith on New Poem – Passing…

The finality of death does not equate with me. i have difficulty in accepting it. i know it’s the end or rather a new introduction to the afterlife. “Passing” is elegantly stated with the colours of emotions displayed. Life should be experienced fully as does this poem. Scott, continue to grace our white stars with a touch of divine class. I believe the future will offer us more opportunity to relish the sweetest, slightest of ordinary love.

Laura Bailey on New Poem – Passing…

Dear Scott,
This poem, Passing, speaks of the kind of transcendence that mindfulness lends in both state and trait modes, overcoming distractions peacefully while purposefully being present in the moment with selfless joy. Your wisdom is astounding.

Aria Ligi on New Poem – Passing…

This piece works in love and then the finality of death with not only a melancholic thread, but glints of love that what lies beyond is hope not a slide in the drear that most fear.

Secondly, it is tightly written, which give it a punch so that readers may mull over it, ferreting out the nuggets that lie within.

Asesh Datta on New Poem – To live a little…

Live and let it not be in reverse as evil.
This moment is so vast and still little we know about it
Death is pleasant and journey of this life if measured
Flower blossom only to wither away after bearing seed
Thanks for the nice words and take care.
Regards

Asesh Datta on New Poem – We are all Prophets…

No doubt we are prophets. So are our surroundings full of fragrance, beauty and music.
Yes, we are mystics, with eyes shut, praying for humanity and all living beings.
Are we not saints meditating for the truth to reveal its unbound journey?
God is within me and in every one of us.
Great poem. Regards

Carol Simon on New Poem – We are all prophets…

My Thoughts on ‘We are all Prophets’ When I consider a poem, I start first with the title and ponder there for a bit and this title causes one to ponder. A poem is a thing not just to be read and enjoyed, but to be studied and reflected upon and ‘We are all Prophets’ by Scott Hastie is one such poem. It is profound and reflective in its aspect, deep and meditative. My favourite type of poem is one that provokes deep thought and reflections on life itself because isn’t that what a poem is supposed to do? Cause you to think? A poem can also soothe the soul and be itself a thing of beauty.

The beauty, for me, in this poem lies not only in its rhythmic flow but also in its meaning and in the imagery used to convey that meaning. I couldn’t help myself at the use of the word ‘filigree’. I did a double take on that one. It shifts the mood of the poem [at least in my mind] into an ethereal dimension [I also happen to like the word ‘ethereal’, by the way]. I am not sure why, but that is just how I responded emotionally to ‘filigree’.
I think when you are working with an art form that is as condensed and compact as a poem, words pack power and this one certainly does. It captures the very style and essence of the poem itself – light and delicate in style but woven with meaning. In other words, the poem itself is a filigree.

Another element of this poem that stood out to me is its title, ‘We are all prophets’. Something about that resonated with me that we not only foretell by deciding our destinies but we also forthtell by allowing the lives that we lead to tell a story, “To leave telling traces/Of ourselves” [2nd Stanza].

Hastie has also outdone himself in another little poem titled, ‘To Live a Little’ which to me is either the first or the second chapter or companion poem to ‘We are all Prophets’. I find it to be a little bit more cryptic and I like cryptic. I mean after all what fun is there in a poem without having to decode and decipher meaning. I like a poem that creates a sense of wonder and puzzlement and ‘Live a Little’ does that very much. I ask myself what does the poet mean by ‘the angel’s/Enigmatic smile’? I appreciate the fact that I must sit a while and have a think until its meaning is revealed to me mayhap by finding other clues within the poem itself or possibly by reading other poems by that poet or maybe even by reading the poet’s bio or something external that might offer up some sort of insight.

I read on further to the verse that says, “And such/Are all our hopes, /Freer to flower/Brighter still/When no longer clad thus”. Whew! Okay, let me pause for a bit, here. I do detect a certain existentialist pronouncing [doctrine] here and throughout the rest of the poem as well – in fact, in both poems. Is the poet also hinting at the frailty of man, clad in his mortal shell by use of the word ‘flower’? I do not want to read too much into it; I have gotten into trouble with that before, but the word ‘flower’ does trigger those thoughts or that symbolism, for me. The operative word, here, being ‘me’. It certainly speaks of an ending reality and a shift into another existence – a sort of transcendency, if you will. Love it! I love me a well-crafted poem. The sage is alive and well. Poetry is still alive and well!

Unber Shafique on New Poem – We are all prophets…

This is beautiful, especially the opening lines. The end, of course, is very remarkable.

Unber on New Poem – To live a little…

To live a little we have to die a little. This sums up life. Beautifully written, Scott.

Jacqueline Williams on New Poem – We are all prophets…

So lovely.
I know just how you feel about leaving a mark. When my mother died I realised there was nothing left of her. A huge empty space grew in my heart and I swore that would not happen to my children. My children’s homes are filled with me in the guise of paintings, drawings, poetry, journals written just for them and now I’m writing novels.
I adore this poem for it speaks volumes to my heart. thanks JAQ

Aria Ligi on New Poem – We are all prophets…

As always Scottie reminds us with such lyrical quality about the intrinsic things in life.

In his passage:

“Thus do all our lives
Become
An enduring tapestry
Of pointed moments,
Albeit seeded with loss,
The ache of which will pass
Whilst such sweet emotion
Remains.”

You can feel the meter flow, which is what all good poetry is about, for it breathes while at the same time effusing meaning.

Caron Kamps Widden on New Poem – We are all prophets…

“Thus do all our lives
Become
An enduring tapestry
Of pointed moments,
Albeit seeded with loss,
The ache of which will pass
Whilst such sweet emotion
Remains.”

In a season of deep loss right now myself, I certainly hope to find that the ache will pass and that nothing but sweet emotion will remain. Such a beautiful thought. Thank you.

Hilary Dawe on New Poem – We are all prophets…

I was quite taken aback by the poetry on your website – your work is sublime, and seems to reach so deep into the human condition to truths that belie all our existences somehow. I honour your creative process, dedication and productivity and your ability to complete the cycle…

Nivedita Yohana on New Poem – We are all prophets…

I read your beautiful poem and the emotions flowing through the poem really captivated me. The opening lines of the poem are really stunning when you ask rhetorically ” We are all prohpets of our own existence” indeed! I really love the idea that you compare life to an “enduring tapestry” woven with various hues intricately and ‘intimately’ that we all have to endure ” The absolute truth…Of raw emotions”. I indeed look up to you so reverently for the fact that despite the pain, suffering and yearning which is inevitable there is always a sense of that eternal hope, optimism, dream and a promise of a “Tomorrow” in your being which is of course reflected in your works. I really needed this today to cheer me up and gather my strength and be reminded of your sweet and powerful energy that has been nourishing me. Thank you so much.

Thank you for your uplifting words.

Banu on New Poem – We are all prophets…

I think we are somehow living in the past present and future tenses, woven together in our story narrative of a “one life”

Dr Jelka Samsom on New Poem – We are all prophets…

Being in touch with our “raw emotions” is no easy thing for us “civilised” people of the 21st century….reconnecting with these emotions and finding our true individuality makes us all “prophets of our own existence”, indeed!! Beautiful, as ever, dear Scott!

Marina Sofia on New Poem – We are all prophets…

Goodness, these verses are so beautiful:
Amidst the endless sway
Of needs and desire,
Delicate patterns made,
Filigrees of real meaning
I wonder though, at times, if filigree might be too delicate, too subtle a pattern, and that’s why so many of us miss it and go with the endless sway instead…

Glenn Buttkus on New Poem – We are all prophets…

To take your well-stated premise a bit further, after we acknowledge that we are spirit that uses a body (not the converse), that as cosmic entities we are much more beautiful & powerful than we give ourselves credit for, or even are aware of–then hell yes, we can acknowledge past lives, and accept our own blueprint for each life we live.

Ayala on New Poem – We are all prophets…

Lovely poem!

Neena Sharma on New Poem – We are all prophets…

How insightful Scottie sir…Indeed The Tapestry of each’s life has two things to offer…Some Beautiful moments to cherish; yet other things as past hurt and pain are Experiences/Lessons, that propel us to forge ahead, becoming stronger with each lesson to learn. So each human is an architect as well as a Prophet of his/her life.
The radiant Truth of our Life shapes our tomorrow. So Move on, Let go, stop not!

Use your Past Experiences and Stumbling blocks as Stepping Stones to Success and Victory. Success and Victory, our Birthright; after all we are the Master almighty, the Blessed Children of the Almighty Authority(Our Supreme Father) Himself. Thus, turn each pain or wound into smooth pathway to Success, for a brighter tomorrow.
Beautiful and inspiring, as always… Scott sir. Bravo!

Congrats! Divine Greetings and Regards

Arnost Vevoda on New Poem – We are all prophets…

This latest endeavour truly touched my heart. As I inferred in one of my own works, we all leave imprints on others even after we’re gone. However your last stanza eluded me somewhat – something about leaving behind raw emotions and blossoming into something of virtue. I cannot relate it to my own powder keg of emotions and don’t know if its helpful to anyone now or in the future. Otherwise good stuff and may I truthfully say your latest piece ins my favourite, probably because it coincides with my personal pilgrimage. Scott, thanks for sharing and may God bless you.

Don MacIver on New Image – Crossing the Andes…

Very striking images Scott. These photos remind me so much of my own homeland here in British Columbia, Canada. The incredibly rugged terrain of the multitude of mountain ranges made for great challenges in road and highway construction in earlier times.

Weather and slides make for treacherous passage and closures for days on end.

Interesting that even in their stark appearance through these photos there is beauty.

Finally found some time to relax and enjoy some reading to day. Your writing is beautiful. This really resonated with me:

“All we’ve come to know,
To touch the essence of,
Leaving behind a memory,
A presence of its own.

Energies That eventually settle,
Coming to rest somehow
In the very fabric
Of who we are.”

Especially as I feel we have a collective consciousness as a species 😉 Literally imprinting memory and instinct onto the ether!

I enjoy your style of writing, as you may tell I am more performance orientated.

Robert Mukiibi on New Poem – A sheen…

Insightful and evocative.Good poems must evoke pictures of a writer’s emotional and mental imaginations when read.
And I can see the light of life gleaning through every line.

John Elabe on New Poem – To live a little…

I liked your poems, they are so good

Mickey Pamo on New Poem – To live a little…

A match for any Wordsworthian music

Micki Peluso on New Poem – To live a little…

Dear Scottie, I feel your frustration, fear of the unknown barely clothed in hope, caused in part by a tumultuous year of death bathing the entire earth in its evil… an evil never before felt to this degree. Hope jumps out from flowers but we all know their bloom is short. Is this to be our destiny? May our Creator save us from ourselves.

Thomas Pennington on New Poem – To live a little…

Your poem is about living without fear, at least I took that from it.

Sean Michael on New Poem – To live a little…

This is particularly well written. I especially like the first two lines.

Zee Shan on New Poem – To live a little…

I am really pleased to have this connection with such a great person, I am very interested in poetry and its depth, because poetry is always the most concise, distilled and beautiful way of explaining entire life and experience.

I read your poems, and that shows You have a great poet and kind human inside you. 🙂 I always admire poets and have so much respect for them and I am therefore really feeling so good and happy to have conection with you. I would love to promote your poems, because they really deserve to be famous like a shining star.

May you live a longer, healthy and more wealthy life, You made my new year good 🙂 Stay blessed.

Hello! Another beautiful, poignant piece! Your words speak truth.
“To live a little you have to die a little”!
It gives us appreciation and gratitude!!

Thank you for another philosophical ingestion.

Diane Burrows on New Poem – To live a little…

Much enjoyed this poem. It could be self-pitying but, instead, it is positive. I too love the metaphors and will read more.
